President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday, 2 May, on a multi-nation visit to France, Kenya, and Rwanda.

According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s first stop will be in France before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya.

The Africa-France Summit will be co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto.

In Kenya, President Tinubu will attend the Africa-France Summit scheduled to hold from 11 to 12 May. The summit will be co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto.

The high-level meeting will focus on key global and regional priorities, including energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action, and the restructuring of the global financial system.

“The summit will provide a platform for strengthening strategic partnerships and advancing Africa’s economic transformation.”

The summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth”, will bring together African leaders and their French counterparts to deliberate on issues such as infrastructure development, youth empowerment, technological advancement, and peace-building.

Africa CEO Forum gathers business leaders and policymakers across the continent.

Following the Kenya summit, the President will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, to participate in the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for 14 and 15 May.

This year’s forum, themed “Scale or Fail”, is expected to attract over 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers.

The forum, organised in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), will focus on accelerating economic transformation through regional integration, cross-border investments, and industrial expansion.

“At both summits, the President will highlight Nigeria’s reforms aimed at attracting investment and driving sustainable growth.”

President Tinubu is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with global and African business leaders to strengthen Nigeria’s economic partnerships.

He will be accompanied by senior government officials and is expected to return to Nigeria after the Rwanda engagements.
