Reflection: Clerics across Nigeria use the Easter season to call for a return to moral leadership.
NATIONWIDE — As the 2026 Easter celebrations draw to a close, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and other prominent clerics have issued a unified call for a "National Reset."
In messages delivered during thanksgiving services across the country, religious leaders like Apostle Ezekiel Oyedele and Baba Aladura Israel Akinadewo stressed that Nigeria’s current economic and security woes require more than just political fixes—they require a moral overhaul. CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, urged Nigerians of all faiths to use this period as a catalyst for unity, especially as the nation navigates the complexities of the upcoming 2027 political cycle.
Unified Voice: Leaders emphasize that "Victory is near" for a nation making sacrifices.
"Just as Christ rose from the dead, Nigeria can rise from its present challenges. But we must choose righteousness over unearned wealth and prioritising godly values in our public offices."
