National News Update
In a bold move to tackle rising insecurity, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the "National Law Enforcement Modernization Fund." The ₦500 billion initiative is aimed at phasing out archaic policing methods and introducing AI-driven forensic technology across all 36 states.
Speaking at the State House, the President emphasized that "Security is the foundation of economic growth." The fund will cover the purchase of body cameras, high-tech patrol vehicles, and a significant increase in the monthly allowances for officers on the frontline.
Critics have raised concerns about the implementation, but the Presidency has assured that a multi-agency board, including civil society representatives, will monitor every kobo spent to ensure transparency and accountability.
